A Chinese plumber stripped to his underwear in near freezing conditions after a car knocked over a water hydrant.Ye Lei, 41, said it was the only way to fix the gushing hydrant without getting his clothes soaking wet through.He said: "I had water proof clothing as well but I reckoned there was so much water it didn't have a hope of helping to keep me dry.
"We tried driving our truck on the water jet as well but that just made it spray sideways."
So in the end he decided he could best tackle the broken hydrant in Ningbo, eastern China's Zhejiang province, naked.He then dried himself off and dressed himself in his clothing that pals had kept warm using the heaters in their cab.He said: "It was only 10 minutes but with the water at 4 degrees C it was pretty cold by the end."
