Winning lotto ticket found in teen's messy bedroom

A Scottish teenager reluctantly tidied up his bedroom after being nagged by his mum - and found a £50,000 winning lottery ticket.Ryan Kitching, 19, of Penicuik, Midlothian, unearthed 12 old tickets in his drawer and nearly binned them.But he decided to take them to a supermarket to double-check - and one ticket contained five numbers and the bonus ball netting him £52,981.Ryan said: "I am totally speechless - it was the happiest day of my life easily.

"My mum had been nagging me for weeks to tidy my room so I started cleaning up and found a pile of old tickets."I was about to bin them but at the last minute I got this strange feeling that I should get them checked."Next time she nags me to tidy my room I won't need telling twice."

Mum Susan added: "I'm really chuffed for him. I'd be nagging him for weeks to clean his room. Hopefully, he'll listen to me next time."Ryan bought the winning ticket at the Tesco store where he works part-time on the fish counter.He added: "I'll probably put some down on a house and treat my mum and dad to a holiday."
