A social welfare office in Dublin has banned interviewees from wearing pyjamas.Officials at Damastown social welfare office put up a notice warning claimants of the new rule."Pyjamas are not regarded as appropriate attire when attending Community Welfare Service at these offices," it says.It is believed the decision was made after a number of people complained about people wearing pyjamas.
It is not the first time that people wearing pyjamas outside of the home has created controversy. Two years ago, a Belfast primary school wrote to parents to say wearing pyjamas on the school run was "slovenly and rude".Last year, the head teacher of a school in Middlesborough also asked parents to get properly dressed before dropping off or picking up pupils. And a Tesco store in Cardiff put notices up asking customers not to shop in their pyjamas or barefoot.
